Guide. Thinking partner. Ally…

What is coaching?

Coaching is a responsive process that helps to close the gap between where someone is and where they want to be. On a practical level, it involves asking questions, listening carefully to a client’s words, voice and body language, and offering tools to help clients identify and learn about the issue they are facing, before deciding what action to take for themselves.

As your coach, my role is multifaceted. Think of me as your:

  • Experienced guide through the responsive coaching process

  • Ally and co-creator of a safe space for you to express yourself and explore different ideas

  • Thinking partner easing your mental workload by helping you transition between the big picture and the details, dreams and reality, logic and creativity in a fun yet focused way that generates insights and moves you toward your goals.

  • Cheerleader celebrating your successes and rooting for you to reach your goals.

Is a coach the same as a consultant, mentor, or therapist?

Nope. All of us are passionate about helping our clients succeed, but how we fundamentally support that success differs.

Consultants

Consultants are people you hire to diagnose a problem, present and implement solutions for you.

Mentors

Listen to your challenges and draw upon their knowledge or life experience to advise you on what to do next.

Psychologists

Psychologists are licensed mental health professionals who diagnose and treat mental illness – often by delving into your past.

Coaches

Coaches work from the present moment forward to help YOU clarify the problem, solution, and fix it for yourself.
